Where Times Meet

Time present and time past
Are both perhaps present in time future,
And time future contained in time past.
If all time is eternally present
All time is unredeemable.
— T.S. Elliot, Burnt Notion

We constantly exist at an intersection where our past, present, and future meet.

Our past…

All we’ve done, thought, and learned throughout the years makes us who we are. Whether our interpretation of that past is good or bad doesn’t change that it is still with us this very moment.

Our future…

Hopes, desires, and goals. It guides our decisions and how we position ourselves each day.

Our present…

With a lens made up of what came before and what lies ahead, we exist now. Now ends up being the shortest sliver of time we come to experience. The words you just read are now part of your past. The words you’re about to read are part of your future. If you decide to stop reading now, these very words and those that follow will be left unread and never enter any spectrum of your time.

At this moment, my experience of time and yours are meeting. You’re reading something from my lens but interpreting it from your own. When you view an image of mine, you are seeing something that I have seen and you interpret it in a unique way. Because you’re you and I’m me.

It’s beautiful.
